Lake Powell, Arizona Workshop:
Exploring the vast beauty of Lake Powell and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is every landscape photographer’s dream. Carved and sculpted by the Colorado River since the beginning of time, no canyon is alike. With its dramatic red sandstone spires, majestic cliffs rising from brilliant blue waters and royal arches only accessible by boat, it offers endless opportunities to capture the magnificence of nature. With a shoreline longer than the whole western coast of the continental United States, one could spend years seeing all there is to see at the lake especially since it changes every year as the water level rises and drops and the seasons change.
This is your opportunity to explore, experience and photograph one of the most unique landscapes in the world in an intimate setting. Limited to three participants, you will be guided by an instructor who has been exploring Lake Powell for over 30 years. During this workshop, you will stay aboard a fully-equipped, air conditioned, 28-foot twin-engine Cabin Cruiser with a restroom and a galley. We will cruise to areas of interest and hike to the final shooting locations. These hikes are medium difficulty and can be as much as a mile each way. Therefore, participants should be in good physical condition and able to manage the hike while carrying their equipment.
This package includes all meals, snacks, drinks, and on-board living for the duration of the shoot.
Please bring your own equipment. We recommend a sturdy tripod, circular polarizer, and split natural density filters. Wide angle and medium focal length lenses (17mm ~ 100 mm) are a must. A notebook computer with photo editing software for post shoot critique is also recommended.
Since there is a limit of two participants, we encourage you to register without delay. See you on the Lake.
